1. Purpose
This agreement outlines the ethical principles, responsibilities for the correct use of WGI and IIW/EWF logos and certifications, and compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policies at Welding Greece Institute (WGI).
2. Code of Ethics
By signing this agreement, the undersigned agrees to:
- Act with integrity, honesty, and professionalism throughout all training, examination, and certification procedures at WGI.
- Avoid any behavior that may discredit WGI, the International Institute of Welding (IIW), the European Welding Federation (EWF), or the qualification/certification schemes involved.
- Declare any conflict of interest during activities involving examination, assessment, or training.
- Maintain impartiality and confidentiality regarding examination materials, results, and internal procedures.
3. Use and Misuse of Logos, Diplomas & Certificates
The undersigned acknowledges and agrees that:
- The WGI, IIW, and EWF logos are registered and protected trademarks. They must not be used without prior written consent from WGI.
- Diplomas and certificates issued by WGI and endorsed by IIW/EWF are strictly personal and must be used only to demonstrate the qualifications of the named holder.
- The following practices are strictly prohibited:
- Misrepresentation or falsification of WGI certificates or logos.
- Use of diplomas/certificates by unauthorized third parties.
- Alteration, replication, or sale of certificates.
- Any misuse of certificates, logos, or intellectual property will result in:
- Immediate withdrawal of qualifications.
- Notification to legal authorities.
- Notification to IIW/EWF and other relevant bodies.
- Public disclosure of misuse, where appropriate.
4. Data Protection – GDPR Compliance
In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), WGI ensures the lawful collection, processing, and storage of personal data.
By agree with our policy, you consent to:
- The collection and use of your personal data (e.g., name, contact info, ID, qualifications) for purposes directly related to your training, examination, certification, or participation in WGI projects.
- Your personal data being stored securely by WGI for a minimum of 10 years or as required by IIW/EWF regulations.
- WGI sharing your certification/diploma details with IIW/EWF databases or regulatory bodies when required for verification.
- Being informed that you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Request correction or deletion (if permitted by certification rules)
- Withdraw consent (where it does not contradict accreditation/legal obligations)
