INTERNATIONAL PERSONNEL CERTIFICATION BODY
The Welding Greek Institute, ANB for Greece, member of IIW and EWF, is successfully running according ISO 17024 principles, for IIW/EWF existing qualifications, and WSTAR new qualifications related to Personnel Certification, specifically WELDERS.
In the context of this recognition, the Welding Greek Institute through WSTAR Certification Scheme, provides to the International Market, the possibility of independent training and qualification, as well as Personnel Certification, in a wide range of specialisations related to coordinate, monitor or inspect welding activities, as well as to perform welding activities.
PERSONNEL CERTIFICATION PROCESS, is following the successful completion, of the EXAMINATION & QUALIFICATION PROCESS.
The Welding Greek Institute, has adopted a well structured CERTIFICATION Process, based on the IIW/EWF Directives and the WSTAR requirements for personnel certification.
The Certification process is following the successful examination, and is based on the working experience of the applicant.
Specific details regarding the categories of WELDERS certification and related experience requirements, are mentioned in the following paragraphs.
WSTAR Welder (International & European Standards)
Minimum Educational Grade: Elementary School
Relevant Diploma from Highest Educational Institution
Minimum Professional Training
- Diploma or Theoretical and Practical training evidence of 200 hours
- ALTERNATIVELY: 4 years experience as Welder
Examination Required for Personnel Qualification
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: EN 14732, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: ISO 9606, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: ISO 13585, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: ISO 15618, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: ISO 13076, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: AWS, or
- Test specimen comply with the International or European standard: ASME, Section IX, article 3.
Professional Diploma Achieved
WSTAR Certified Welder (International & European Standards)
Work Experience

2 years experience as Welder, and minimum 12 months in the subject / title, is requested the certification
or -
4 years experience as Welder, and minimum 6 months in the subject / title, is requested the certification

- Psychometric Test (mandatory)
- English Knowledge Level Exam (mandatory)
